BILL BAGGERMAN

Bill was a councilperson in the early restoration period. He was instrumental in acquiring the gas lights for South Main; I remember he said that some wanted electric look-alikes, but Bill insisted on gas lights. The gas lights were already installed when we arrived in '74. Bill and Jean Baggerman submitted the only other proposal to Urban Renewal for the Western House in 1977; our proposal was accepted...though we were very young and poor! Bill and Jean later built a lovely house at 338-340 South Main. I recall that visitors thought it was an old structure and would remark at how well preserved it was. (remembered by Holly Haddox)
